Cariñena will be European Wine City 2025

Cariñena, in Spain, in the province of Zaragoza, was named European Wine City 2025 on November 21st. The RECEVIN Board of Directors meeting took place at the European Parliament, in Brussels.

The Dionisio 2025 European Wine City was also chosen: Osijek-Baranja Country, in Croatia.

The president of RECEVIN, Rosa Melchor, and the general secretary, Anabela Caeiro, were at the meeting, as well as other members of the Board of Directors.

The Cariñena City Council has guaranteed that next year Cariñena will host an intense program of cultural activities around wine. D.O. Cariñena, its municipalities and the Wine Tourism Route “Vino de las Piedras” will be partners in this program.

This year (2024) Piedmont and Gran Monferrato, in Italy, are European Wine City. In 2026, the European Wine City will be Portuguese.
