The French Association ANEV has joined RECEVIN

The European Network of Wine Cities (RECEVIN) was in Toulouse on November 6th and 7th for two days of intensive work and sharing around European wine tourism and cooperation between wine-producing cities.

The program began on November 6th with the ordinary meeting of the RECEVIN Board of Directors, chaired by Rosa Melchor, at the Lycée des Métiers de l’Hôtellerie et du Tourisme d’Occitanie.

The meeting, with an extended agenda, included the approval of the 2024 accounts, an update on RECEVIN’s membership fees, the creation of the Wine Cities Network and, of particular relevance, the official welcoming of the French Association ANEV – Association Nationale des Élus de la Vigne et du Vin, which has formally become a member of RECEVIN.

The integration of ANEV represents a historic milestone for RECEVIN, reinforcing the European and inclusive character of the network, now with full representation from France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal, the main wine-producing countries on the continent.

The following day, November 7th, was dedicated to the ANEV Congress, focused on the theme of wine tourism. The event featured the participation of prominent figures in the sector, such as Jean-François Portarrieu, Member of Parliament and President of ANEV, Jean-Jacques Bolzan, Councillor of Toulouse and ANEV representative at RECEVIN, and Christophe Bou, co-president of Vins du Soud-Ouest.

During the morning, three thematic roundtables addressed issues such as the relationship between wine and institutions, the role of UNESCO in valuing wine-growing territories, and European wine tourism, with interventions from representatives of France, Moldova, and Portugal.

The journey concluded with an official reception at the Toulouse City Hall, presided over by Jean-Luc Moudenc, where new RECEVIN ambassadors were inaugurated in an atmosphere of camaraderie and celebration of the shared heritage of European wine.

In the coming months, RECEVIN is preparing for two new highlights: the Closing of the European Wine City 2025, on January 28th in Cariñena (Spain); and the official Opening of the European Wine City 2026, which will take place in Beja on February 7th.

With the integration of ANEV and the consolidation of its activities in 2025, RECEVIN reaffirms itself as the leading European network for cooperation between wine-producing regions, promoting the culture, wine tourism, and identity of wine as a symbol of sharing and sustainable development throughout Europe.
