The Spanish city of Cariñena, in the province of Zaragoza, was named European Wine City 2025 by RECEVIN – European Network of Wine Cities, and the Opening Ceremony took place on February 22nd.
Rosa Melchor, president of RECEVIN, and vice-presidents Luís Encarnação, from the Association of Portuguese Wine Municipalities (Portugal) and Angelo Radica, from Città del Vino (Italy), were present at the event
The Cariñena City Council took the initiative to compete for the title, in collaboration with the Cariñena D.O., its municipalities and the Vino de las Piedras Wine Tourism Route.
Cariñena intends to develop a vast program of events to promote the region’s territories and, in particular, wines and wine tourism.
