World Wine Tourism Day to be celebrated on 8 November

A global celebration of wine tourism, local heritage and the diversity of wine regions

World Wine Tourism Day will be celebrated on 8 November, bringing together wine regions and local communities to showcase their wine tourism offerings, cultural heritage and traditions.

The initiative was launched in 2009 by RECEVIN (the European Network of Wine Cities), which established European Wine Tourism Day as an annual celebration held on the second Sunday of November in its member cities. In 2019, the initiative took on a global dimension through a partnership with AMETUR (World Wine Tourism Association), extending its reach beyond Europe.

The celebration brings together a wide range of events and activities designed to promote wine regions and highlight their distinctive landscapes, traditions and cultural identities. Each participating city organises its own programme of activities within its territory, while coordinated communication helps strengthen the initiative’s visibility and impact.

From conferences and concerts to winery visits, vineyard tours, wine tastings, food experiences and exhibitions, the programme offers visitors and local communities a variety of opportunities to discover the richness of wine tourism and the destinations that bring it to life.
